Temporary Visions is a project by Esmée Olthuis and filmmaker Fred Pelon.
It demonstrates a new, fresh vision of the synergy between music and the moving image.
The principle behind the project is the exploration of the tension (the similarities and inconsistencies) between movies made in advance and music improvised on the spot.
The music is raw and its play has a relentless, forward-moving, quality. The very abstract montages are constructed using unorthodox methods (e.g. partially decomposing old family-footage with fungi) and self-made material. The movies are made with as little manipulation of the original idea as possible.
